Golf Section – Seniors
Senior’s Inter-Club Matches
All Club male members over the age of 55 can play in friendly home and away matches against the Senior Sections of a number of local clubs: Canterbury, Westgate, Chestfield, North Foreland, Walmer & Kingsdown, Broome Park and Whitstable.
Green fees are not payable for the away matches and the only cost is for the meal after the match.
The Saints and Sinners
The Seniors’ Section of the Club is known as the Saints & Sinners. It was formed in 1977, and all male Club members who are over 55 years of age are eligible to join.
Tee times are from 8.00. For many of the competitions, the winner is awarded an engraved cup or trophy and are also qualifying rounds, which count towards the member’s handicap. A number are in a team format such as a Texas Scramble.
Highlights of the year include the Captain’s Day which is played in the summer and the Christmas Meeting in early December.
A buggy belonging to the Saints is available to members at a preferential rate at any time of the week subject to availability.
